Admissions Policies

ADVANCED PLACEMENT

The Advanced Placement Program (AP) of TBI is offered to students who have taken college-level studies in high school. If students receive a rating of 3, 4, or 5, they may request credit at TBI for that subject. Arrangements for AP testing are made through high school counselors.

TBI will also consider for advanced placement the testing programs of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), the military (USAF/DANTES) Subject Standardized Tests (SSTs), and the American Council on Education’s recommendation for educational experiences in the Armed Forces and in non-collegiate organization.

AP, CLEP, and/or DANTES credits are given only for those courses that are reflected in the curriculum of TBI. A maximum of 15 semester hours of credit will be awarded through these tests. Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to TBI.

A few qualified students may be accepted each year for early admission from high school. In general, the student must have completed the eleventh year of high school, have a B average or better, have fewer than two units to complete for graduation, and have the permission of the high school that upon completion of these units in college-level work a high school diploma will be granted.
