Certificate Program


The certificate courses are structured around our biblical and general educational core studies. The programs are designed for (1) lay persons who desire a basic biblical study program; (2) a “called” person who wants to prepare for a career in the mission field; (3) a person who wants to work in a Christian school or local church; and/or (4) a person who seeks a certificate in teaching or guidance. Courses offered are for either credit or non-credit.

Certificate In Chrisian Guidance

This program of study introduces students to the use of the Bible in Christian Guidance. Students will learn how to perform intake interviews that will help in giving personal and group guidance to clients. Students will learn skills and techniques that are in agreement with TBI’s doctrinal statement. Focus will be on the family and how to deal with conflict resolution. The student will learn how to direct group sessions using the word of God as the supreme authority.

This course offers a fresh perspective on the role that guidance can play in the local church. This certificate program lays a clear foundation for the theories and techniques in Christian Guidance and may be earned only in conjunction with a degree equal or higher than a Bachelors Degree.

Certificate In Teaching

This program of study introduces students to the use of the Bible in teaching students in elementary, junior, and high school. Students will learn the fundamentals of teaching skills and techniques with emphasis on biblical instruction. All instruction will emphasize the contents of TBI’s doctrinal statement. Focus will be on how to impart knowledge to individuals and groups in a classroom setting. Reading, writing, mathematics and social studies, etc., are emphasized.
A Certificate in Christian Teaching may be earned only in conjunction with a degree equal to or higher than a Bachelor’s degree. An Associate degree does not qualify for this certificate. It is highly recommended for those students earning a degree in Christian Education.

Certificate In Biblical Studies (College Preparatory)

At the completion of this study, the student receives a Certificate in Biblical Studies. The student’s study requires the completion of seven (7) courses. To meet the requirements for a Certificate in Biblical Studies the following courses must be completed: Old Testament (2 credits), New Testament (2 credits), four books of the Bible (2 credits each), and one (1) elective class (3 credits).

Certificate In Biblical Studies (Spiritual growth)

This certificate is for those students who desire to study the Bible for spiritual growth only. This program rewards students for their accomplishment and commitment. Subjects offered under this program are either credit or non-credit courses. To receive credit for these courses, a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
