Academic Program

SPECIAL LECTURESHIP SERIES

Each year Triangle Bible Institute presents a special lectureship series. These lectures are designed to promote intellectual interaction, spiritual stimulation, and practical insight into contemporary biblical issues. These lectureships are usually held twice a semester. Some of the subjects to be covered are: Mission related subjects/conference; issues of church, state, and law; biblical counseling in contemporary culture; pastoral principles, Christian ethics; archaeology and the Bible.

LIFE EXPERIENCE – PORTFOLIO

LIFE EXPERIENCE:

A student who has five (5) years of full-time experience in a recognizable position in the church can submit an application for no more than fifteen (15) credits towards an Associate Degree. To be eligible for Portfolio Assessment and Life Experience, a student must have earned at least sixteen (16) hours of required semester hours.

No degree can be awarded based purely on experience credit. A minimum number of credit hours must be completed through Triangle Bible Institute (TBI) for the awarding of any certificate or degree. An estimate of life-experience credits is given at the time of academic evaluation, but must be validated using the Institute Credit Assessment Form.

All degree-seeking applicants must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Official enrollment in the Portfolio Assessment – Life Experience program requires the following:

– A completed Student Information and Evaluation Form
– An official transcript of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
– Official transcripts of all college studies, which must be mailed directly to TBI
– Life Experience Fee per credit hour

Life experience credits are awarded to TBI applicants, particularly licensed and ordained ministers as well as those persons who have devoted their lives to “church work.” Life experience credit is a one-time award of up to fifteen (15) credits towards an undergraduate degree. The President, the Executive Director, and the Academic Dean must approve the awarding of these credits. All required forms, life achievement documents, work experience certification documents, and any other material that will assist the approving authority in its determination must be received by February 15 in the school year applying for the credits. A determination will be rendered two months from that date (April 15) and sent by mail directly to the applicant, along with any financial remuneration.
